Get the correct vision with Ptosis correction surgery

The upper eyelid movement is very important for the healthy eyes.  The movement of the upper eye lid is involuntary and highly significant to maintain a good health condition of the eyes.  The movement is controlled by the tendon known as Levator connected to the eye lifting muscle.  It acts as a link and it is destroyed due to various reasons.  The loss of this tendon may be due to eye diseases such as cataract, eye injury, or other eye complications.  Eye tumour and other complications may arise due to the diabetes.  Such person requires an alternative to maintain the condition properly.  The only alternative at present existed is surgery.  Depending upon the patient’s condition, the type of ptosis correction surgery is decided.

When the condition is not so severe, a small tuck will suffice to correct the eyelid movements.  In severe conditions, that is in serious Ptosis condition, a complete strengthening of Levator muscles is necessary and it is achieved by the reattachment through Ptosis surgery.  It is always better to consult your doctor before you take any decision.  Eyes, the entire structure involving cornea, iris, pupil, lens, retina together is known as eyes.  It is a complex structure constituted by various components as mentioned.  Each component works in coordination with the other together makes the eyes and its condition fit and fine to view and perceive things around you.

Ptosis Surgery to Correct Drooping Upper Eyelids

When your upper eyelids get drooped, you are suggested of undergoing Ptosis surgery. Ptosis makes your eyes look tired and sleepy and reduces vision. Repair is essential to provide a more youthful, vibrant appearance as well as for improving your sight.

At The Line, Ptosis correction surgery is done by experienced, qualified eye surgeons. They will first diagnose the patient to figure the exact cause of this problem. Usually, in most people, ptosis is caused by the gradual stretching of the tissue which supports the upper lid. Involutional ptosis occurs with aging. Involutional surgery is done to correct upper eyelids by tightening the levator muscle, which finally raises the eyelid.

Ptosis surgery is usually performed through an incision in the upper lid. Also known as upper eyelid blepharoplasty, the muscles that lift the eyelid gets weak when the eyes are opened or the skin is severely drooping by nature or as one grows older. Major procedures involve raising your eyes to make the eyes look wider. However, if problem still arises, despite double eyelid surgery, you have to have the muscles cut that lift the eyelid (levator palpebrae superioris muscle) and then it would be easier to lift it with the same force.

If you have excess skin and fat in the upper lid, it can also be corrected at the time of ptosis restoration. The Line eye surgeons are trained to carry out this surgery with utmost care and attention. Ptosis repair requires extensive experience and the surgeon needs to plan how to perform the surgery to get best results.

What is ptosis correction surgery?

A drooping eyelid is referred as blepharoplasty. In some cases the sagging eyelid covers the entire pupil, which completely interfaces with the vision, which results in amblyopic.

The major reasons that cause ptosis are;

Ø  Weakening muscles
Ø  Congenital weakness
Ø  Trauma
Ø  Neurologic diseases.

The ptosis problem can be corrected through the surgery. Physicians elevate the position of lid or lids to bring it in a proper position. This helps patients to get better vision and they can also get rid from vision difficulties. Physicians discuss about the therapy and their plans to treat the problem with the patient before they start the surgery. It is very important to educate the patients about ptosis correction surgery before they start operating. Normally, the pre-operative details are considered by the expert doctors.

What is ptosis and why you need ptosis correction surgery?

Ptosis is defined as sagging of the upper lid, partially covering the eye pupil. When you see the eyes of ptosis people, you will feel like they are tired and sleepy. It also reduces the vision and gives a look of exhausted condition. The ptosis correction surgery is intended to provide the youthful and vibrant appearance as well to improve the vision. Patients with ptosis also have excess skin around the eyes and fat in the upper eye lid. This can be corrected at the time of surgery. Normally, this surgery is performed by an expert ophthalmologist who specializes in blepharoplasty. The surgeon who performs this operation should be very experienced in carrying out this therapy.

Causes:

Normally, ptosis is caused by the tissue stretching, which is supported by the upper eye lid. The ptosis usually appears with aging. Added to this, constant wear of contact lens may weaken the tissue of upper lid resulting in ptosis. This can be corrected by tightening the levator muscle.

Other reason to perform this surgery includes enriching the vision experience. Most of the patients feel scared to undergo this surgery because of scarring. However, most of them are not aware about the fact that the scars are covered by natural fold of the eyes. The lower scar will be on the lower lash line. Hence, patients need not worry about the scars.

People who wish to consider this surgery for cosmetic purpose need to consider both shades of the surgery. But people with ptosis have no other option other than considering ptosis.
