How to prepare yourself for upper eyelid blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is a surgery performed to correct the body defects, disfigurations and deformities of the eyelids.  It is a type of plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery performed to bring out an appealing facial structure. Most of the people opt for this surgery to correct the defects, but many of them consider this surgery due to cosmetic reasons. Normally, in cosmetic or plastic surgery doctors remove the excess tissues or reposition the tissues to give a perfect shape. The blepharoplasty surgery resolves both functional and cosmetic problem related to eyes, eyebrows and the upper parts of the cheek. In this blog, we will discuss about preparing yourself for upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery.

First of all, before considering this therapy, you need to clarify with the doctor whether you are undergoing for local or general anesthesia as well as the upper eyelid blepharoplasty cost. If the doctors give local anesthesia, you’ll be awake during the surgery, but your senses around the eye are numbed. The local anesthesia can be enhanced by using systemic sedatives which are given either intravenously or orally. In case if the blepharoplasty surgery is more complicated, a general anesthesia is given to the patient. Added to this, general anesthesia is given if the patient considers complete cosmetic surgery along with blepharoplasty.

A day before your surgery, doctors will give some common instructions to the patients. You need to consume only a light meal. You shouldn’t eat anything or drink anything after the midnight and the day of the surgery. You need to take essential medication given by your doctor. These medications help controlling your blood pressure while treating lower eyelid Blepharoplasty.
